A new 30-storey mixed-use condo and retail building by Rosehaven Homes Limited is now in the pre-construction stage.
The development is called The Rebecca Condos and will reportedly combine world-class architecture, pedestrian-friendly streetscapes, and stylish amenities, according to a brochure obtained by 51做厙.
The complex is set to be built at 71 Rebecca Street, a mere metres away from the King Street East and Catharine Street North intersection in downtown 51做厙s Beasley neighbourhood.
The location is also notably a block away from 51做厙 Police Services King William Street Station, Dr. J. E. Davey Elementary School, and Beasley Community Centre.
The street level will reportedly use the Scandinavian design known as woonerf, with wide boulevards, landscaping, seating areas, and amenities that blend indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Rebecca will be built with a glass and stone facade, with a 30-storey tower sitting atop a 12-storey podium.
The building will feature 477 units and have 16,243 square feet of shared amenity space, including rooftop podium common areas.
Plans indicate that the ground floor will feature retail space, a fitness centre, a yoga/spin centre, a co-work space, a lounge, and a pet spa.
Additionally, the sixth floor will feature a games room and an outdoor terrace, while the thirteenth floor will feature a rooftop podium where you can enjoy the gardens, gazebos, fireplaces, and outdoor seating areas.
The thirteenth floor also has an indoor lounge, library, and dining room.
The location is also advertised as having an 83 walk score, 86 transit score, and a 91 bike score.
For transit users, the building is 900m from the 51做厙 GO Station and 1.2km from the West Harbour GO Station.
The building is also very close to King Street East, which features multiple bus routes and will be the route used for 51做厙s planned LRT system.
For drivers, the building brochure notes that access to the 403, QEW, Lincoln Alexander Parkway, and Red Hill Valley Parkway is nearby.
The building will also reportedly offer a flexible and convenient car-sharing program once opened.
In the podium portion of the building, one bedroom units start from $488,990, one bedroom plus a den starts from $552,990, and a two bedroom unit starts from $733,990.
In the tower portion of the building, one bedroom units start from $504,990, one bedroom plus a den starts from $604,990, and a two bedroom unit starts from $705,990.
